The year that wasn't
11/16/08
Well, I have to admit, there hasn't been an update to this site in over one year!! But what a year it's been!
Aaron and I continue to enjoy the amazing changes our two children experience nearly every day. It is a true blessing to watch them learn, grow and move on to the next 'level' of development. It seems like just yesterday that we were bringing our little boy to work and watching him bounce up and down in the doorway of the production room in his slinky chair. Today, he's leaping off the couch pretending to be a Jedi Knight whipping his light sabre around.
Our daughter, who is most definitely a daddy's girl, is playing with her dolls and telling the dog to 'go lay down' in her stern grown-up voice while grazing occassionally on a freshly toasted bagel stategically located on the kitchen counter. She's in a stage where she thinks she runs the show... and some days, she may be right.
I am truly amazed at the depth of love I have for my children and can honestly say that I had no idea that I was capable of it. There is no doubt that having children is challenging and complicated - but it is most definitely worth it!
As for everything else... well, it's mellow. We are finally able to enjoy some free time instead of working 7 days a week! Though we are much better off today then ever, it was not without sacrifice. Ask anyone who has experienced a life-altering event - you are given two choices as to how to handle them: be a champion or be a victim. Clearly, we chose to be the champion and it has been very rewarding in every way.
We are looking forward to a great 2008 holiday season and I would like to give a 'shout-out' to everyone in our life. Aaron and I appreciate all of you!
